Thanksgiving in Fabulous Las Vegas!

We decided to spend this years Thanksgiving in Las Vegas with the people who mean the most to us...our amazing parents! Terri and Monty drove in from California, my parents flew in from Ohio and we, obviously, flew in from Georgia! Terri and Monty have a timeshare that we were able to use for the week! The condo was a perfect fit for all of us! It was off the strip, but we found that it was actually nice to see other parts of Vegas, as well as an awesome casino next to us to play some GREAT blackjack! We were able to sit all of us at the blackjack table a couple times, it was downright fun and hilarious! I'm pretty sure we all came up winners too!

It was my parents first trip to Vegas, so we spent a day giving them a walking tour of the strip. For Thanksgiving we decided to eat at the Wynn...the food was amazing, but the wait for a table was ridiculous...I have chosen not to disclose how long we waited because you will all think we belong in a nut house! The following day Monty and my parents took a day trip to see the Hoover Dam while Joe and I took Terri shopping to enjoy the black Friday craziness! We ended our vacation seeing Le Reve, the Cirque at The Wynn, it was amazing!

As fabulous as Las Vegas was, what meant most to us was being able to spend this holiday with our amazing parents. We shared so many laughs and stories and  made memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you to our parents for making the trip out to spend it with us...we love you all SO MUCH! We are so blessed that we all get along like one big family, we couldn't ask for anything more!

Aunt Shirley and Uncle Calvin Visit Savannah!

This past weekend I had the pleasure of spending a couple days with my Aunt Shirley and Uncle Calvin in Savannah. They were driving through to Florida where they stay for the winter and decided to stop and visit! I was so excited, I don't get to see them nearly as much as I would like. I am finding out quickly that living on the East Coast is a great opportunity so far to see more and more of our families!

Aunt Shirley and Uncle Calvin had never been to Savannah before, so I was their tour guide (which as you may know is not what I'm best at) Regardless, we began our tour by going to Tybee Island, it's one of my favorite places and one of Joe's least favorite. We have found that people either prefer Hilton Head Island or Tybee Island here in Savannah. The two beaches couldn't be more different really. Hilton Head is very tourist driven and commercial where Tybee is locals and much smaller. Joe will argue that Hilton Head is clean and beautiful and Tybee is dirty and old...it's all your preference. I'm pretty sure though that they enjoyed Tybee and we enjoyed a cold beer while enjoying a stroll on the beach and boardwalk. Before we headed for the beach we stopped at on of the biggest tourist stops in Savannah for lunch, The Crab Shack. It was a beautiful day to sit outside on the water and catch up...Uncle Calvin swears he saw an alligator too! (it may or may not have been driftwood...) After our tour of the Island we went downtown to spend a little time at Forsyth Park.

The following morning I met up with them downtown for a traditional tour of the city. It's a great way to see all of the city as well as learn a little about the history. We walked along River Street and stopped for a yummy lunch at Boar's Head as well. Later that evening Joe had arrived home from a business trip and we met up for dinner at Love's. Love's is an older steak and seafood restaurant on the river that is one of Savannah's biggest local hits. After dinner we went back to the campground where they were staying (they have an amazing camper that they haul to Florida and stay in, an epitome of a house on wheels) We had so much fun sharing stories and lots of laughs. We hope that they stop back through again sometime!

Here are just a couple pictures of our time together...

The Gurtzweiler's visit Savannah!!

What an amazing week we just had! My little brother and his family made the long drive down from Ohio to visit with us for their family vacation! Joe and I were so excited to have them, we couldn't wait to get our hands on our adorable niece and nephew!! We couldn't have asked for better weather either, we had a great 83 degree day at the beach, followed by 70's to cool us off a little for sightseeing. As you can imagine I took several pictures and had to share some of them with you, it's a great look at what we did some of the days.

It is ever amazing to me to see my little brother all grown up with his beautiful family. I know, he is now 28 years old and all, but he is still my baby brother. He has 2 perfect little kiddos and a beautiful wife, I'm just so proud of the man he has become....here is a little look at our fantastic time with them :)

Our first day we decided to head downtown to River Street and show them the sights. We lucked out and were able to tour a pirate ship that was docked on the river! Here is a picture of Kaitlyn waving "HI" with mom.

Off the ship and ready to explore!
Posing for Aunt Jeni in front of the ship...are you kidding me?! Eyes to die for!

We ended up at Wild Wings to eat and watch the Lions vs 49's...

Sometimes the most simple things are the most amusing...

SO FUN!!
Brittany and Kyle <3
After we filled our bellies we walked to Forsyth Park to show them the historic district and more importantly play at the big playground!

We got to see on the the carriage horses up close! He was resting and getting a drink, Kaity thought he was pretty cute and even gave me her shy face :)
Kaitlyn and Uncle Joe...Kaitlyn keeping up with her funny little run.
We stopped in front of one of the big old mansions to pose...hilarious!

K & K looking cute as ever!!!

Pretty sure Kyle is trying to flex??
Too far of a walk...daddy to the rescue!
WE MADE IT...time to play!!

In front of the big fountain and entrance to Forsyth Park

Of course when you play hard, bath time is pretty much a sure thing...these made me laugh so hard...priceless pictures of these two!

Kaitlyn LOVES My Little Pony...these two didn't get too far out of reach!

Look at those lashes?!?!?!?! They both have them...I actually think Kyle's might be longer!

YEAH for beach day! It was perfect out!! We went to Tybee Island on Monday and we had the best time! Kaitlyn had so much fun in the waves and after a little coaxing Kyle was loving it too! These two could be quite the little beach bums!
Aunt Jeni packed us all a yummy lunch to have a picnic at the beach.
The birds liked our picnic food too!

After the tide rolled out it left a little sand bar that was perfect for the kids to play!

When we were here we spotted dolphins right near the shore, I didn't realize until I looked at these pictures and zoomed in that I caught a picture of it's fin in the background!!

 Pooped!

 Matt hunting for crabs!

Watching the crabs burrow in the sand...hours of entertainment!
I wont make fun of Matt's closed eyes, the sun was pretty bright!

We looked up a local Aquarium to visit...it wasn't the biggest or the best, but it was something! It had a pretty cool nature trail that we walked too, Kaitlyn didn't like it too much thought. She referred to it as "The Spooky Forest" when we were finished she looked at me and said, "I'm never going back into that spooky forest ever"

Kaity was totally obsessed with the sea horses!!!
I guess they were pretty funny!

 Kyle loved all the fish!

The beginning of the spooky forest
Kyle had no problem with the spookiness!

Not sure if she is freaking out here or what, but it's pretty funny!

Our last night together we took them to our favorite place in Hilton Head, Skullcreek Boathouse. The food is never less then fabulous! We had a great night out and we miss everyone so much already!

 Pretty good group shot!!
 Me and my sis!
Playing a little cornhole while we wait!

Love you all and miss you bunches!!

About Me

My photo
Savannah, Georgia, United States
I am a proud Ohio girl who for the past 4 1/2 years has lived in Irvine, California with my husband and 2 goldendoodles. We recently made a move to the East Coast to Savannah, GA. We are in the process of making this feel like "home" All three of them are the loves of my life! Joe and I started our photography business right after we got married in April and have been loving it! We enjoy meeting new people, hearing their stories and going through their journey with them. Joe and I are excited for a bright future ahead and are enjoying every second of life! We miss our family and friends dearly and hope that by sharing our blog with them makes the distance between us seem a little less vast.
